For the last few days, my class has been learning about Manaakitanga like what it is and how we can show it. We had to fill out this slide deck and then post it to our blog. Here is mine!

WALT: Learn about the Niuean culture
For the past few weeks, we have been learning about Niuean culture. On a slide, we had to answer find facts about Niue, answer questions, and make a Kahoot about it. We could either do it in pairs or as individuals and I did mine in pairs.
WALT: Learn more fractions and estimating.
For the past few days, Rm 5 has been learning about Niuean culture. Our teacher gave us some Niuean-related math problems. These Problems mainly focused on geometry potion and orientation. We had the choice to add our answers out on a slide by ourselves or with a group, I chose to do it with a group. Here is my group's slides

Today my whole school had an Ag day ( if you don't know what that is it explains it on the slide), we had to prepare for this 2 weeks before. Each class had to make their own projects and then bring them today. Our class had to make a potato character and a recycled creature. We also made some stuff at school.

WALT: create our own science experiment
For the past few weeks, I have been working on my science experiment. My first experiment is baking soda and vinegar.
WALT: Learn about Sir Peter Blake and sea life.
On Monday Room 5 went to our school library and had a VR Experience under the water. It was about Sir Peter Blake and his life. We had to work on a slide about him and answer questions.
WALT: Activate prior knowledge and infer and locate information.
For the past few weeks, we have been learning about refugees. We had to read some articles and answer the questions the teacher gave us.
WALT: write a truly captivating holiday recount
For a few days we have been writing a deconstructive recount about our holidays and add the 5 senses, we had to make it descriptive and after a buddy had to guess what we did.
WALT: Learn about Peer Pressure.
This morning Room 5 visited Harold the Giraffe, We talked about what a good friend does and what a good friend doesn't.

For the last few weeks, our class had to make a slide show about our favourite bird and find facts about it, I did the Blue Jay.

A little while ago Room 5 had to create our own avatar. We had the base already done for us we just had to decorate it. Here is mine.

WALT: Find facts about NZ predators.
A few weeks ago room 5 had to find facts about an NZ predator, we could either do it in pairs or do it individually. I did mine with a buddy here it is.
WALT: Show Don't Tell
This week Rm5 did some writing about Showing not Telling. First, we had to write a sizzling start about a picture, then we had to use that starter or make another one and write a Before and After. Here is mine
The Cake Mixer
Before
The mixer was fast and the kids tried to stop it then a unicorn came.
After
“BIZZZ!!” went the cake mixer “ it's too loud, make it stop!!!” cried Luca. “ I'm trying to!” shouted Ella.
A few minutes later the cake mixer went dead silent “ what did you do?!” said Luca “ nothing, it just stopped.” Whispered Ella.
BABOOM! “ Hello, hello, thank you, thank you.” said a voice from the fog in the distance “ COUGH COUGH! Who's there?” screeched Ella
“ Me Unicorn!”

WALT: Understand what gaming is.
I learned that Half of the video games are sold to Steam.
I also learned that Esport could be a sport.
1. Games provide a 23 percent gain over traditional learning
2. 50% of the games were sold to Steam.
3. 65% of gamers aged 25-35 played VR games.
4. An estimated 2.7 billion people played video games in 2020 alone.
5. 2.3 billion gamers were waiting for new experiences.

This Morning Room 5 had to find some topics for some sizzling starting sentences, we had to write it in 1min, here is mine...
For the past few days, we had to write descriptively about one thing we did in the two-week holidays, and our classmates had to guess what we wrote about.

Next time I could... Make the subject harder for a buddy to guess.
WALT: play the game Matimati with Matua Derek
Today we played a game called Matimati with Matua Derek, it's like netball but instead of shooting into a hoop you have to cross the line where the hoop is. We had our class split into two teams (bibs and non-bibs) bibs won 3-2.
